WFIA Welcomes Katie Doyle to Lead Government Affairs

The Washington FoodIndustry Association (WFIA) has selected Katie Doyle to serve as its new director of government affairs.

Doyle most recently served as state government affairs manager for the Washington HospitalityAssociation, working on an array of policy issues, including alcohol and gambling policies for restaurants. Doyle also led grassroots engagement efforts for the Hospitality Association, managing and expanding its statewide grassroots network by working with members, elected officials, community-based organizations, community leaders, and members of the business community.

“We are excited to have Katie join our team and lead our government affairs program,” said WFIAPresident & CEO Tammie Hetrick. “Katie has an outstanding track record in terms of her advocacy outreach and leading and coordinating grassroots initiatives, which are so integral to our work in Olympia. Member engagement is key to so much of our legislative outreach, and Katie is just the person to help energize WFIA members and connect them with state legislators.”

“This is an incredible professional opportunity to learn about such a vital industry,” said Doyle.“Independent grocers are the lifeblood of so many Washington communities. I look forward to meeting WFIA members and helping the association advance its policy agenda.”

Doyle holds a bachelor of arts in political science with a specialization in legal studies from Seattle University.
